Volunteering at AWPC is an opportunity to care for those facing difficult pregnancy decisions as well as struggles in relationships, finances, physical health and spiritual well-being.  All who work behind the scenes as well as those with direct client contact are vital to what we provide.

Assistant Medical Director: We are looking for a licensed physician (MD or DO) or a licensed nurse practitioner to volunteer and assist our Medical Director in providing AWPC's medical services to the community. For more information, please call Jennifer at 248-939-5902.

Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer: Monthly commitment and Saturday hours available. Perform limited obstetric ultrasounds and provide basic client/patient care including pregnancy testing, medical charting, and appropriate patient follow-up care.

Client Advocate: 2-4 hours a day, once a week. Needs: Mondays 1-4pm, Thursdays anytime between 10-5pm, Fridays 10am-2pm, and Saturday mornings. Provide one-on-one support and encouragement to women throughout pregnancy and their baby’s first two years. Provide education regarding pregnancy, parenting, relationships, life skills, and spiritual growth. Training and educational materials are provided.

Boutique Shopper: Thursday evenings, 5-8pm. Assist clients as they shop in the boutique, record purchases, straighten up the room, and stock shelves as needed.

Spanish-Speaking Client Advocates - open availability!

After Abortion Healing: We’re currently restructuring this program and looking for women who have a heart to serve those who have experienced abortion. We will meet one evening every week and would like to have enough volunteers to rotate. Please contact Alyssa at 248-471-5858 if you would like to join an upcoming planning meeting.

Receptionist: Mondays 9am-1pm, and Saturday mornings. Answer the phone, greet clients, process paperwork, and keep the office tidy. Must be comfortable using computers and willing to learn our scheduling program, eKYROS.

Social Worker: Preferably 2-4 hours a week, open availability. Meet with clients, assess needs, and refer to quality services related to pregnancy and parenting.

Childcare Volunteers - 2-3 hours a day, once a week. Needs: on-call. Must be 16 y/o or older. Volunteers will provide an interactive and safe play area for client’s children during the client’s appointment, keep the childcare area clean and organized, and be a positive role model.

Options Counselor: 2-3 hours a day, once a week. Needs: Thursdays 10am-2pm, Fridays 10am-4pm (can be broken into 2 positions), and Saturday mornings. Provide one-on-one support and encouragement to women during their pregnancy test/ultrasound appointment. Educate on fetal development, pregnancy options, AWPC programs, and community resources. Women only, 18 y/o and older. A nursing background is preferred but not required.

Event Support - assist with client and/or fundraising events throughout the year. You’ll be able to choose which events work with your schedule. Tasks may include: planning, preparations, set-up, greeting, ushering, childcare, refreshments, photography, etc.

Group Volunteer Opportunities - may include office work, cleaning, boutique organization, etc. We can typically accommodate groups as large as 10, dependent on our current needs. Contact Alyssa at 248-471-5858 or clientservices@awpc4life.com for more information.
